Happened quite close to our town. I think the mother should have been held culpable as well. She said he mesmerized her, I can't believe that. So sad the son had to pay the price.
Yes, I was conflicted about the mother. I can understand she might have been brainwashed, but it would be hard to prove. There's a case in Canada where the parents were convicted of neglect for treating their now deceased child's meningitis with natural remedies. It was overturned and a new trial is planned. No outsiders were involved. The father runs an herbal supplement company.
